Improving community health and hygiene is an issue of paramount importance in a city which is so densely populated. Projects that prevent, detect and treat illnesses in the community have been supported.
As preventive measures, the Trust has supported initiatives that seek to create awareness of issues as cleanliness, safe water, medical checkups and vaccination drives in schools. Control of diseases such as leprosy and tuberculosis has also been supported. Common facilities for hearing impaired, development of training manuals for health workers, and provision of assistive technologies for people with disabilities have been some other significant areas of interventions supported.
